How are you occupying your time to keep from being BORED?
Fortunately, I AM NOT BORED. Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day as I fight off falling to sleep at night. I've kept busy working on my website, learning a little about SEO (very little, but more than I knew before). I've set up eCommerce on my website so it integrates with Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest (haven't set that one up yet, but on my list). The site is secure site for shoppers which is super important and we all need that little lock on the task bar to ensure it is encrypted.
The world of online workshops was big but I think it's about to explode with some very talented people who are now researching how to teach the masses who are locked at home and eager to learn. I, like many I'm sure, find it cost prohibitive to take a workshop in the US due to the extra cost for airfare, accommodation, transportation, food etc., in addition to the workshop fees and supplies (not to mention the exchange rate). My husband just won't let me mortgage the house to take all these workshops on my list (being the wise man he is). Some teachers are offering free or discounted workshops and I for one will support their efforts if and where possible. I've enjoyed learning new tips and tricks and then practicing in my studio.
The past week I worked on and finished my piece to be entered into the Metal Arts Guild of Vancouver Island's monthly challenge. It was fun creating and resolving fabrication issues along the way. The entry deadline is April 12th and we now have to work out how to set up a virtual voting system on Facebook or their website so people can vote on them.
I'd love to hear how you're doing and if you are managing to keep busy.
